Community-Based Projects

How can we use dance and theater to address issues of concern in our communities?

I am drawn to making art with regular people in and about the places they care about. Community-based projects build and deepen relationships and address issues of concern to the participants. Trained and untrained dancers come together to bring these projects to life.

Many of the community-based projects I have directed have resulted in informal performances (for the communities themselves) and little documentation remains.

However, here are some wonderful photos and videos from two evening-length community-based projects that I created with collaborators in Germany.
